Diving Deep…

I have been underwater the last 7 months - not literally, but you know what I mean. I am just coming up to breathe now…and guess what? Some art surfaced!

Hey there, friends and art enthusiasts! Ever wonder what happens when a full-time corporate sales gig collides with an insatiable passion for painting? For the past seven months, that's been my wild ride, and honestly, I'm still debating if I was bold or just plain naive to think I could pull it off!

My days were packed with prospecting, traveling, building forecasts, and endless virtual meetings, leaving precious little time for my true love: painting. Life got a little cramped, especially for my amazing wife (who's been incredibly supportive, bless her heart!), but my evenings, weekends, and even precious vacation days transformed into a vibrant studio. You might say my artistic fuel became a delightful pairing of Buffalo Trace bourbon (strictly a Friday and Saturday treat!) and the soulful sounds of our Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan—a combo that kept the creative juices flowing.

Back in November, I approached my art teacher, Shin, with a crazy idea: an art show. Shin's just one of those incredible mentors who knows how to make big dreams feel totally achievable. She's so cool about things, always challenging her students in the best way. Her simple question, "When?" was met with my even simpler reply, "By my birthday, June 3!" With her guidance and a goal of 8-10 pieces, we mapped out a plan. From January through April, I poured my heart into the first three beauties: "Tango Cachaco," "Colores de Cartagena," and "Anas Mai."

Then, April, May, and June became all about one truly fun project: "The Baggataway Saloon." Seriously, I just loved working on that one! And right up to the wire for our June 7th art show launch, the paint was practically still wet on my final piece, "Medicine Game Keepers." That was another awesome experience, especially learning and applying a fantastic technique for adding the look and feel of dust on a field.
I’d love to hear from you and your thoughts on the art show.
